How Do Firearm Transfers Work at ISFA-4 Defense Supply Company?
Buying a firearm online does not mean the firearm is shipped directly to your home. The firearm must be sent to a licensed dealer, where the required identification, paperwork, and background-check steps are completed before it can be transferred.
How the process works at ISFA-4 Defense Supply Company
Select ISFA-4 Defense Supply Company as the receiving dealer. If you are purchasing from another website or seller, choose ISFA-4 Defense Supply Company as your receiving FFL or ask the seller to contact us for our license information.
Wait for the firearm to arrive. The seller ships the firearm to ISFA-4 Defense Supply Company. A carrier delivery notice does not mean the firearm is ready for pickup.
Wait for our pickup notification. Our team must receive, inspect, and enter the firearm into our records before the transfer can begin. We will let you know when it is ready.
Bring the required identification. Bring a valid, current government-issued photo ID showing your legal name, date of birth, and current residential address. If the address on your photo ID is not current, additional qualifying government-issued documentation may be required.
Complete the transfer paperwork. The actual buyer must appear in person and complete ATF Form 4473 and the applicable Virginia background-check paperwork.
Complete the background check. The firearm can be released only after the transaction receives the required approval and all legal and store requirements are satisfied.
